Community Work

Through the years, Taylor has found many different opportunities to use his talents not only to entertain but also to make a difference. He finds when there is a purpose behind the project, his passion for the project becomes greater.

Passion for Purpose 'Men of Campus'

At the end of his college experience in 2009, Taylor set out for one last ha-rah. Putting together a team of the “sexiest” men on campus, Taylor produced Passion for Purpose, a men’s calendar that featured a variety of USF men. Each man dressed semi-scandalously as their major giving the calendar everything from a naughty math major complete with calculator too the body builder biologist with amazing chemistry. The calendar was one part sexy, two parts hilarious. Fellow student and friend, Amanda Ryrholm jumped on board as the photographer. Mr. September, Mike Harris, also became an essential part of the team while selling this "hott" item. Calendars were sold with all the profits benefiting the City of Refuge Ministries, an organization that saves children from slavery in Ghana. $1,500 dollars was raised and presented to Johnbull and Stacy, founders of the ministry, in form of cash filled briefcase. Taylor just thought it would be a fun way to do business.

Potential Soulmate Premiere

In 2008, Taylor created his hour long film Potential Soulmate. Potential Soulmate is a coming of age story of a young man named Kelly (Joseph Wiltse) and his constant struggle to find a girlfriend. After eight months of writing, filming, acting, directing, editing, and producing, the film was finished and the premiere finally came. Five hundred people attended the screening at the University of Sioux Falls. A free will offering was taken and over $1,000 was raised for the St. Francis House, a local halfway house. In times like this when the economy is down, so are donations. Thus making Taylor's trip to drop off check and be met with a teary eyed hug that much more memorable.

Complete Works for Tsunami Victums

In 2005, as a senior at Howard High School, Taylor and his best friends Gabe Gassman and Tony Keupp put on the three-man production The Complete Works Of William Shakespeare Abridge. They spent hours before and after school memorizing the dialogue for three weeks before showcasing their work. They held the production on their high school stage and raised over $1,700 for tsunami victims. The money was donated through The St. Agatha Catholic Church.
